Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician Specialist to perform advanced and basic technician duties and support total quality management of distributive functions.

You will take on specialized duties and leadership roles as assigned by the pharmacy management team; the role requires a high school diploma, state certification (CPhT), active registration, and at least three years of hospital pharmacy experience.

• Associate or Bachelor degree - Preferred
• National Certification (CPhT) - Required
• Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the State Board - Required
• Minimum of 3 years hospital pharmacy experience - Required
• ACPE or ASHP Advanced Certification - Preferred

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Pharmacy Technician Specialist is responsible for accurately performing advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner. They assist in total quality management of the distributive functions of the department by performing all the duties of a Tech I and Tech II position. In addition, they are responsible for performing specialized duties, and/or leadership roles as assigned by the pharmacy management team.

High School Graduate/Equivalent - Required

Preferred Education

Associate or Bachelor degree - Preferred

Or Equivalent Combination Of Education And/or Experience

Required License

National Certification (CPhT) - Required

Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the State Board - Required

Preferred License

ACPE or ASHP Advanced Certification - Preferred

Required Experience

Minimum of 3 years hospital pharmacy experience - Required

Preferred Experience

1 years’ experience in the specialty areas as determined by hospital needs. - Preferred
