Job summary

Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Commack, NY is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our clinical team. You will assist the pharmacist, read prescriptions, and prepare medication orders for our 460-bed facility, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The role requires a HS diploma and, preferably, a CPhT; 2+ years SNF/DSS experience and computer literacy are expected. We offer a strong salary, comprehensive benefits, and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred; high school diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years SNF/DSS or related experience; candidate must be computer literate.
• Ability to read prescriptions and prepare medication orders per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in a variety of functions within the pharmacy and on nursing units, under direct supervision.
• Read prescriptions and prepare all medication orders according to policy.
• Familiar with brand and generic drug names and strengths.
• Deliver medications to Nursing Stations and coordinate pharmacy rounds.
• Check medications for date, storage, labeling and inventory; handle returns/destruction as policy.
