Job summary

UMMC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Retail Pharmacy to assist in dispensing prescriptions, prepackage pharmaceuticals, and prepare sterile compounds under direction. You will support the pharmacist in dispensing and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities include counting, labeling, packaging meds, stocking supplies, and documenting regulatory information. An ideal candidate holds a HS diploma and MS Board registration with a pre-employment drug screen. Full-time day shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Registration for Pharmacy Technician or Student-Controlled Substance with the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy.
• Pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and dispensing of prescriptions by counting, packaging, labeling, pricing, and filing under supervision.
• Add measured drugs to IV solutions under sterile conditions to prepare IV packs under supervision.
• Participate in regulatory documentation and daily processes for the area.
• Maintain stock levels and inform supervisor of shortages; clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Access patient profiles and electronic health records as needed to complete tasks; participate in medication-related charge documentation.
• Duties may be adjusted by management and are not exhaustive.
