We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our Skywalk Pharmacy team!! This role offers a $2500 sign on bonus!

Hours: Hours are 230-11pm, Monday-Friday. Rotating weekends every 5th weekend and rotating holidays

Location: Children's Wisconsin

What you will do:

Under the supervision of the Pharmacist, you will answer phones, gather contact and insurance information from patients, process insurance claims, process prior authorizations, verifyinsurance coverage, and fill prescriptions. When patients pick up their prescriptions, you will take payments and ensure they receive the correct medications. You will also help keep track of inventory and restock shelves. The Skywalk Pharmacy staff take pride in lifting the burden for our patients/families. If this matches your criteria….we want to hear from you!! We prefer candidates who have some prior pharmacy experience, otherwise those that are excited to learn Pharmacy and have prior customer service experience would also be ideal.

What you will need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of a pharmacy tech program preferred.

  • One year experience in a pharmaceutical environment preferred.

  • Good interpersonal and customer relations skills are needed to communicate effectively with various hospital personnel and families and to gather and exchange factual pharmaceutical information.

  • Ability to work well under pressure due to time constraints and varying workloads.

  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.

  • Ability to operate a computer in order to generate lists, process medication orders, enter charges/credits, generate labels, retrieve patient information, and handle automated dispensing unit functions.

  • Ability to walk and stand up to 80% of the work time.

  • Ability to push, pull, and lift weights up to 30 pounds for up to 25% of the work time. This is required when exchanging unit dose carts and stocking pharmacy areas.

Skywalk Pharmacy is Children’s Wisconsin’s full service pediatric retail pharmacy. They provide services for our children ranging from routine prescriptions to compounded medications that are made specifically for a particular patient.

Here are some fun facts about Skywalk Pharmacy and their dedication to the health and well-being of kids:

  • Skywalk Pharmacy offers bedside delivery of medications for patients when they are discharged from the hospital ensuring patients have their medications before going home.

  • Skywalk Pharmacy compounds medications to make tablets into liquids kids can take and for those patients with other unique needs. The pharmacy technicians and pharmacists have specialized training to prepare these types of medications.

  • Many of our patients will need medication for the rest of their lives, and Skywalk Pharmacy can service them forever, even when they are adults. They provide health coaches who work with families, talk about the medications their child needs on a monthly basis, and set up a pick up or free home delivery.

  • The Skywalk Pharmacy also sells over-the-counter items for kids. They work closely with Children’s Wisconsin providers to get recommendations on what to offer patients.
