Job Description

Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician where you will assist team members, physicians, and patients in daily activities such as data entry and answering phone calls. You will play a vital role in clarifying physician orders and ensuring they are dispensed accurately to our patients or their physician's offices. Orders will be shipped by our pharmacy warehouse staff to designated patients or providers as noted in the patient profile.

Job Description

Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician where you will assist team members, physicians, and patients in daily activities such as data entry and answering phone calls. You will play a vital role in clarifying physician orders and ensuring they are dispensed accurately to our patients or their physician's offices. Orders will be shipped by our pharmacy warehouse staff to designated patients or providers as noted in the patient profile.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong knowledge of pharmacy policies and government regulations, entering prescription information accordingly.
  • Assist with quality improvement initiatives.
  • Calculate doses needed for patients based on prescription and prescribing guidelines.
  • Enter prescription information (data entry) into pharmacy dispensing system for pharmacist review.
  • Enter prescription clarifications taken by the pharmacist into the computer system.
  • Assist patients and providers by answering phone calls and triaging them to the appropriate team or personnel if needed.
  • Understand and work programs based on specific program guidelines.

Essential Skills

  • Registration with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy is required, and proof must be provided before hiring.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to read and interpret documents to carry out instructions.
  • Flexibility to change priorities as needed, evidenced by the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • PTCB Certification is required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous pharmacy data entry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Client-facing experience over the phone is preferred.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent GED.
  • Pharmacy technician license, with preference for Indiana Pharm Tech license.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
