Job summary

Newberry County Memorial Hospital (NCMH) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. You will read, interpret and record physician drug orders and help distribute drugs and IV admixtures across the hospital.

The role includes maintaining inventory, processing purchase requisitions, and ensuring accurate pricing updates, with preference given to graduates of pharmacy technician programs and active licensure by the SC Board of Pharmacy.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Licensed through SCLLR Pharmacy Board is required.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and record physician drug orders.
• Distribute drugs and IV admixtures throughout the hospital.
• Replace, bill and inspect nursing station floor stocked medications.
• Maintain drug inventory levels; prepare purchase requisitions; order medications and supplies.
• Maintain price updates.

The Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist at all times. Responsible for reading, interpreting and recording physician drug orders. Responsible for drug and IV admixture distribution throughout the hospital. Responsible for replacing, billing and inspecting nursing station floor stocked medications. Responsible for maintaining drug inventory levels, preparing purchase requisitions, orders all necessary medications and supplies and maintains price updates.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent; preference given to pharmacy technician school graduates.
• Licensed through SCLLR Pharmacy Board is required.
