Job summary

Newberry County Memorial Hospital (NCMH) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists by reading and recording physician drug orders and by distributing medications and IV admixtures across the hospital. The role includes maintaining inventory, processing requisitions, and ensuring accurate pricing updates.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma (pharmacy technician training preferred) and be licensed through the SCLLR Pharmacy Board.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent; preference given to pharmacy technician school graduates.
• Licensed through SCLLR Pharmacy Board is required.

Responsibilities

• Reads, interprets and records physician drug orders.
• Distributes drugs and IV admixtures hospital-wide.
• Replaces, bills and inspects nursing station floor stocked medications.
• Maintains drug inventory levels and prepares purchase requisitions.
• Orders all necessary medications and supplies and maintains price updates.

Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist at all times. Responsible for reading, interpreting and recording physician drug orders. Responsible for drug and IV admixture distribution throughout the hospital. Responsible for replacing, billing and inspecting nursing station floor stocked medications. Responsible for maintaining drug inventory levels, preparing purchase requisitions, orders all necessary medications and supplies and maintains price updates.

Requirements
