Job summary

HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician PRN to join our pharmacy team. You will procure, dispense, and deliver medications following department procedures, while maintaining accurate documentation and inventory control.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• PharmTech license or Pharmacist-Intern eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Procures and distributes medication orders per physician/pharmacist request or prearranged work assignments.
• Accurately fills medication orders and follows labeling requirements.
• Prepackages medications following department procedures.
• Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas per schedule.
• Dispenses controlled substances with proper documentation; report discrepancies to a pharmacist.
• Maintains stock of medications and supplies per policy.
• Assists in ordering, receiving, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies.
• Rotates stock to use before expiration; replaces outdated drugs.
• Picks up orders and medications for return from patient care areas during delivery rounds.
• Enters charges and credits for patient medications promptly to avoid corrections.
• Generates reports and labels as required.
• Keeps pharmacy areas clean and organized; maintains logs and records.

Education
