Southern Cancer Center in Alabama is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support licensed pharmacy operations at Providence Hospital under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

The role involves technical tasks related to medication preparation, distribution, inventory control, and record keeping to ensure safe and efficient pharmacy operations. Strong attention to detail and physical ability to sit/stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs are required.

Competenze

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Ability to perform manual tasks with precision and attention to detail.
• Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Corrected vision and hearing required.

Mansioni

• Assist in preparing medication orders, including compounding and admixing under supervision.
• Verify patient and physician information for accuracy.
• Admix drugs per department and OSHA guidelines.
• Calculate dosage volumes and convert between metric/apothecary equivalents.
• Maintain controlled drug counts and proper disposal of materials.
• Support inventory control, temperature logs, and documentation of lot numbers.
• Prepare labels, file records, and assist with billing and data entry.
