Southeast Health in Alabama is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist and provide medications safely and efficiently to our patients, in accordance with the Alabama Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities include stocking Pyxis cabinets, maintaining inventory, preparing medications for cart fill and unit dose use, handling narcotics, answering calls to the pharmacy, assisting with sterile IV compounding when assigned, and supporting OR and anesthesia staff as directed by the

Qualificações

• Must have Alabama Tech license or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
• PTCB or other national certification preferred.
• Experience with automated dispensing systems is a plus.
• LPN/EMT or military trained technicians may be considered.
• Completion of a pharmacy technician program is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Stock and maintain automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis) accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain and rotate pharmacy inventory and prepare medications for unit dose use.
• Package medications for unit dose use and handle narcotics as required for Pyxis restocks.
• Answer pharmacy telephone calls and assist the pharmacist as needed.
• Assist OR and Anesthesia staff with medication needs as directed by the pharmacist.
• Perform sterile IV compounding per USP 797 guidelines when assigned.
• Maintain annual competencies per USP 797 guidelines when assigned.
• Help keep all pharmacy areas clean and assist with med rec duties when assigned.

Alabama Pharmacy Technician license

Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB)

Other nationally recognized certification
