Job summary

The Hometown Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a fast-paced setting. You will assist pharmacists with prescriptions, manage medication labeling and inventory, and ensure accurate patient data entry. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and professional communication with patients and care partners.

Previous pharmacy experience or a CPhT is preferred, but not required. You will gain hands-on experience with pharmacy software and daily workflow support, contributing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy technician certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with preparation and processing of prescriptions.
• Locate, count, package, and label medications for verification.
• Enter patient info and orders into the pharmacy system.
• Assist with daily prescription and cycle filling.
• Answer calls and direct pharmacist-related questions appropriately.
• Communicate professionally with patients and healthcare partners.
• Assist with obtaining prescription refill authorizations by phone or fax.
• Prepare labels, MARs, delivery lists, and other docs.
• Utilize pharmacy software and packaging equipment.
• Assist with inventory management including ordering and stocking.
• Check in incoming orders and ensure proper stock levels.
• Monitor inventory and remove expired medications.
• Assist with medication returns and inventory counts.
• Maintain contingency medication supplies as required.
• Ensure owed medications are filled and resolved promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, efficient workspace.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and team to maintain workflow.
• Provide friendly, professional service to patients and partners.
