Job summary

Excelsia Injury Care is seeking a pharmacy technician to assist under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. You will prepare drug containers, count and label medications, maintain patient profiles, and assist customers at checkout within our pharmacy and front-end areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistance Certification preferred.
• 6 months of experience in a medical office setting.
• CPR/First Aid/EKG and/or Phlebotomy certifications preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
• Strong patient management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with doctors, patients, and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Work under direct, immediate supervision of a pharmacist.
• Curry containers of drugs in and around the pharmacy.
• Count pills, tablets, and capsules, and place in containers.
• Type and/or print labels.
• Maintain records related to the Pharmacy practice.
• Enter prescriptions, drug orders, and patient information in a patient profile.
• Ring up customers at the Pharmacy register for prescription pickup.
• Receive prescriptions from patients at the pickup window.
• Clean the Pharmacy and Front End departments.
• Answer calls and forward to Pharmacist on duty when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
