Job summary

Hampton Roads Community Health Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support safe and efficient operations under the Pharmacist In Charge. The role includes processing prescriptions, preparing medications, handling 340B activities, insurance billing, and patient service.

The position requires Virginia technician requirements, attention to detail, and strong customer service. Prior community health center experience and CPhT preference are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must meet Virginia requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician and maintain credentials.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
• Experience with third-party prescription billing, 340B operations, or FQHC/community health center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process new and refill prescriptions with accurate data entry.
• Prepare, count, label, and package medications for pharmacist verification.
• Handle prescription pickups, payments, and POS transactions.
• Assist patients with savings or assistance programs and refer issues to the pharmacist.
• Maintain organized records and inventory, including 340B activities and recalls.
• Provide courteous patient service and protect privacy in all interactions.
• Adhere to HIPAA, safety, and compliance requirements.
