Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Parma is seeking an outpatient pharmacy technician to join our Parma Health Center. You will support pharmacists, assist patients, and help maintain accurate medication inventory in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma, Ohio pharmacy registration (or trainee status), and strong customer service skills. Preferred candidates have PTCE or ExCPT certification and 6 months to 1 year of retail or hospital ambulatory

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; eligible to work in Ohio.
• 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions; registered as Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Trainee with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds; able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists and support medication dispensing per policy.
• Provide patient service and address questions in a respectful manner.
• Manage inventory and assist with cash handling.
• Support outpatient pharmacy operations and maintain accuracy in transactions.

Shift: Monday thru Friday 1045a-715p, rotating weekends 8a-4p Sat, 10a-2p Sun

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.

• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Trainee with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy. Maintains registration throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current/active Certified Pharmacy Technician from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or possess an Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) Certification from the National Healthcare Association.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in a retail pharmacy or a hospital-based ambulatory pharmacy.
