Job summary

The MetroHealth System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Outpatient Pharmacy team at the Main Campus in Cleveland, OH. This role supports pharmacists and enhances patient service while handling inventory and transactions.

The successful candidate will use Epic and standard Microsoft tools, demonstrate strong pharmacy knowledge, and thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting with a focus on quality care for Northeast Ohio communities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions.
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and maintains registration.
• Able to interact effectively with diverse backgrounds and fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacists with medications and patient service needs.
• Support inventory management and cash handling procedures.
• Utilize Epic EMR system and Microsoft programs in daily tasks.
• Collaborate with Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacist, and technicians.

Bi-weekly Hours: 80

Shift: 1130a-8p M-F, Sat/Sun 9a-8p rotating 8 hour shifts

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions.
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Trainee with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy. Maintains registration throughout employment.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Able/willing to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current/active Certified Pharmacy Technician from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or possess an Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) Certification from the National Healthcare Association.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in a retail pharmacy or a hospital-based ambulatory pharmacy.
