Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Buckeye is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Outpatient Pharmacy Team, supporting daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, use Epic EMR, manage inventory, handle cash, and deliver excellent patient service. We offer tuition reimbursement, certification incentives, medical/dental insurance, and OPERS retirement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse backgrounds.
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Trainee with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Operate Epic EMR for prescription processing and patient data entry.
• Provide patient service and cashiering within the outpatient setting.
• Maintain inventory and stock levels; assist in receiving and shelving.
• Collaborate with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians to ensure accurate dispensing.

Shift: Monday thru Friday 9a-5:30p w/rotating weekends & holidays

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions.
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Trainee with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy. Maintains registration throughout employment.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Able/willing to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current/active Certified Pharmacy Technician from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or possess an Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) Certification from the National Healthcare Association.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in a retail pharmacy or a hospital‑based ambulatory pharmacy.
