Job summary

Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to prepare and distribute medications under direct pharmacist supervision. The role includes filling, labeling, Pyxis refills, delivering to patient care areas, and IV admixtures.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be a registered Pharmacy Technician, and ideally have one year of hospital experience or graduate of the hospital program. PTCB/ExCPT certification is preferred for sterile compounding.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, certificate, or equivalent.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician.
• One year hospital pharmacy technician experience or graduate of the Baptist Health Pharmacy Technician Program.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification preferred and required within the year for sterile compounding.

Responsibilities

• The pharmacy technician prepares and distributes medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Filling and labeling medications, refilling Pyxis, delivering medications to patient care areas, preparing IV admixture solutions, answering the telephone and directing calls to staff.
• Maintaining medication stock levels and proper storage to ensure safe and cost effective pharmaceutical services.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and appropriately uses information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.

These duties include but are not limited to: filling and labeling medications, refilling Pyxis, delivering medications to patient care areas, preparing IV admixture solutions, answering the telephone and directing the call to the appropriate staff. Qualifications

Degrees:

• High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper.

Licenses & Certifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician.

Additional Qualifications

• One year pharmacy hospital technician experience (or equivalent experience) or graduate of the BHSF Pharmacy Technician Program.
• PTCB or ExCPT Certification preferred and required within the year for sterile compounding.
