Job description

Prepare and deliver medications to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. Demonstrate the ability to work competently in various general and specialized areas of pharmacy practice.

  1. Receive medications and supplies.
  2. Manage inventory effectively.
  3. Fill and deliver medications under supervision.
  4. Follow policies and procedures consistently.
  5. Ensure adequate supplies for continuous patient care.
  6. Triages and escalates questions or issues outside the scope to the staff pharmacist or supervisor.
  7. Use appropriate systems for processing patient information.
  8. Maintain quality assurance per departmental and legal standards.
  9. Operate pharmacy equipment properly.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $20.68 - $32.05 Hourly

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Experience: At least 6 months of relevant experience
  • License/Certification: Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration; CPhT credential through NHA or PTCB required
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged standing.
  • Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills.
  • Attention to detail and legible writing.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20 lbs.
