Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Assist in other pharmacy department duties per company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist with and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system and register operations.
3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure positive experiences.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, complying with all relevant policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Support workflow scheduling.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to error and quality improvement policies.
• Follow policies regarding Good Faith Dispensing during prescription activities.
• Handle sales transactions, manage cash, and assist customers in locating products.
• Manage telephone inquiries, process third-party claims, and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and file claims for discrepancies or damages.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build and maintain relationships with the local medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and supply stock, ensuring a neat environment.
• Adhere to all company policies, foster respectful coworker relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state certification. Certification may be a condition for promotion.
• Attend training and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional requirements include fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico) and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
