Job Description

  • Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations, and company policies.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with pharmacy operations, including coaching other technicians if certified.
  • Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging and assisting customers and patients, resolving issues, and developing strong relationships.

Customer Experience

  • Greet customers and offer assistance, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Share customer service best practices with team members to enhance service quality.

Operations

  • Assist in pharmacy duties such as entering information, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and managing inventory, under supervision.
  • Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to quality and safety policies.
  • Handle cash register transactions and assist customers in locating products.
  • Support clerical and administrative tasks, including processing claims and supporting inventory management.
  • Assist in clinical services and maintain relationships with healthcare providers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked pharmacy environment.

Training & Personal Development

  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification.
  • Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy practices.

External Basic Qualifications

  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least six months of retail experience preferred.
  • Prior Walgreens experience preferred.
  • Good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of inventory control preferred.
  • PTCB certification preferred.
