Responsibilities
  1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations, and perform other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
  2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
  3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Customer Experience
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
  • Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.
Operations
  • Assist in pharmacy practices under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and managing workflow.
  • Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
  • Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and support inventory management.
  • Support clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
  • Maintain the pharmacy environment, ensuring it is stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Follow all company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state certification. Certification may be required for promotion.
  • Attend requested training and acquire continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy developments.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
