Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties following company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in their operation.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Support workflow management.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Follow policies on Good Faith Dispensing during prescription activities.
• Manage sales transactions, handle cash, and assist customers in locating products.
• Handle non-urgent calls, process third-party claims, and support inventory management activities.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build and maintain relationships with the local medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment and support asset protection efforts.
• Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the training program and/or state certification. Certification may be required for promotion.
• Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional requirements include fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico), and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
