Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations, and perform other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in their respective operations.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medication accuracy, and managing workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to company policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement programs.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management and clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pharmacy environment.
• Build and maintain good relationships with the medical community and external providers.
• Complete any additional tasks or special assignments as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state certification requirements. Certification may be a condition for promotion.
• Participate in training sessions and continuing education to stay current with healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional requirements include fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico), and a willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
