Job summary

SpartanNash in South Bend, IN is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to assist licensed pharmacists by counting tablets, labeling bottles, stocking products, and processing prescriptions and insurance claims. You will maintain patient profiles, handle cash register duties, provide friendly service, and ensure HIPAA compliance while supporting daily operations in a busy retail pharmacy.

The role requires attention to detail, basic math, and the ability to stand for extended periods in a retail

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of customer service-oriented pharmacy experience preferred.
State registration or certification as required.
Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.

Responsibilities

Stock and inventory medications.
Notify Pharmacy Manager of supplies to order.
Receive prescriptions/refills from patients.
Retrieve, count, pour, weigh, package and label products.
Maintain customer profiles and prepare insurance forms.
Operate cash register, display cost, make change, cash checks, and issue receipt.
Maintain a clean, attractive and well stocked department.
Abide by HIPAA and all policies and procedures.
Any task delegated by pharmacist on duty other than final verification of prescriptions and patient counseling on medications.
