Job summary

MedNorth Health Center in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacist with dispensing medications and maintaining daily operations of the pharmacy.

The ideal candidate will be organized, able to work under pressure, and have working knowledge of commercial insurance as well as Medicare/Medicaid. Excellent customer service and attention to detail are essential as you interact with patients and providers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare and Medicaid.
• Accurate medication processing and labeling.

Responsibilities

• Receives medication orders from patients.
• Takes a brief medication history regarding allergies and adverse reactions.
• Obtains birth date, address, telephone number and insurance information from the patient.
• Inputs prescription information, labels bottles, and checks for drug interactions.
• Notifies pharmacist of any issues and maintains communication with prescribers and patients.
• Collects payments for prescriptions dispensed.
