Job summary

Walgreens in Southport, North Carolina is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists and deliver excellent customer care. You will assist with prescription processing, data entry, and inventory control while maintaining Walgreens service standards.

As a team member, you will help patients, manage cash handling, and support clinical services and outreach to healthcare providers. Flexibility for evenings/weekends is required.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification is required (except Puerto Rico).
• At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician in retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pharmacy operations under pharmacist supervision.
• Enter patient and drug data in systems and verify accuracy.
• Fill prescriptions by counting and pouring medications; check interactions.
• Maintain workflow and support scheduling with Pharmacy Manager.
• Handle non-urgent calls to physicians and manage cash at register.
• Lead pharmacy inventory: ordering, receiving, storing, and discrepancies.
• Support clinical services and coordination with Walgreens clinics.
• Build relationships with local medical community through outreach.
