The role requires a High School Diploma, six months of technician experience or one year in a healthcare setting, and PTCB certification by probation end. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), holidays and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician or one year in a healthcare setting with prescription drugs.
• Must obtain a Pharmacy Technician certification through the PTCB prior to end of probation and maintain certification.
• SCHC is a FQHC, so additional onboarding credentialing may be needed.
• 10 Paid Holidays and 18 PTO days annually.

Responsibilities

• Receives prescriptions from patients and providers.
• Obtains patient history information upon receipt of prescription.
• Assists pharmacist(s) in filling prescriptions by counting tablets, pouring liquids, and preparing medications.
• Enters prescription information into and interprets data from the EHR.
• Communicates with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding prescription information.
• Provides accurate times to patients for when prescriptions will be ready.
• Enters medication orders into pharmacy software.
• Maintains pharmacy records and files as required by regulations.
• Assists in completion of all billing activities.
• Processes prescription claims through insurance companies.
• Communicates with insurance companies to resolve issues.
