Job summary

CommUnityCare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in dispensing medications and managing prescriptions. You will handle typing, billing, inventory, and 340B program tasks while coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and patient access.

The role requires knowledge of medical terminology, EMR systems, and strong customer service. A Texas Pharmacy Technician registration and CPR certification are required, with associates degree preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• 3 years experience working in a pharmacy environment preferred.
• Current Pharmacy Technician registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy required.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in dispensing prescription medications, including typing and billing orders and inventory management.
• Prepare prescription medications for delivery and track using pharmacy systems and EMR systems.
• Contact patients to ensure medication delivery and return medications to stock per procedures.
• Enter prescription and patient information and determine eligibility for pharmacy benefits and assistance programs.
• Coordinate with Pharmacy Benefits and Patient Assistance teams to ensure patient coverage and access to medications.
• Provide excellent customer service in-person and electronically, including translators when needed.
• Open and close registers and maintain accurate transaction records.
