As a part time, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; and procuring drugs. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.

Location:

Southridge Behavioral Hospital in Byron Center, MI is a 96-bed behavioral health hospital offering inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment for adults in the southern Grand Rapids area.

Schedule:

This part-time, nonexempt position will work 20 hours per week and additionally as needed to help provide PTO and weekend coverage.

About the Pharmacy:

Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00am-3:00pm and utilizes HCS and Omnicell.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiency
  • Deliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing units
  • Maintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration dates
  • Support medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication delivery
  • Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulations

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Michigan Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
  • Recent experience in a retail pharmacy
Preferred Qualifications
  • PTCB/CPhT
  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy
  • Automated dispensing machine experience

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 - $29 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
