Description

Prepares medication orders for review by a pharmacist. Maintains an accurate, current census, including cassette bin labels, for all assigned areas


Responsibilities

1. Maintains an accurate, current census, including cassette bin labels, for all assigned areas

2. Maintains adequate inventory at all times

3. Returns reusable medications to stock before the end of the shift

4. Accurately fills unit-dose cassettes and performs statistical count of all doses dispensed

5. Conducts all required deliveries and other patient care area rounds in a timely fashion

6. Repackages medications as per departmental policy

7. Prepares parenteral products under the direct supervision of a pharmacist

8. Prepares labels and affixes to product as required

9. Obtains required signatures when conducting controlled substance deliveries

10. Assures effective exchange of unit-dose cassettes as per established schedules

11. Routinely checks for and removes expired medications from inventory

12. Completes all required documentation

13. Maintains work environment in a clean, neat and orderly fashion

14. Conducts all required functions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist


Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a technician training program, or equivalent experience (as determined by the Director)

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $37.38 - $37.38 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
