Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support medication preparation and distribution under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in Rutland, Vermont. You will read physician orders, process meds in the pharmacy system, handle third-party adjudication, answer calls, operate the point-of-sale system, and ensure proper storage and security of medications.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent; pharmacy tech experience is preferred;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Certification within 18 months of employment.
• Ability to interpret and perform basic mathematical computations.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret physician orders and transcribe same into pharmacy system
• Adjudicate third party claims
• Answer telephones, responding to questions and requests
• Operate point-of-sale system, maintaining accurate drawer and completing deposits
• Order and receive medications to maintain appropriate inventory
• Deliver medications to patients
• Maintain proper storage and security conditions for medications
