PharMerica in Albany, NY is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our closed-door pharmacy team serving long-term care and senior living clients. You will fill prescriptions, label products, prepare medications (including non-sterile compounding), and enter data into the computer system while upholding accuracy and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician license as required by state.
• Experience in a pharmacy setting and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong computer skills and ability to identify medications.
• Detail oriented, goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions and package medications for dispensing and delivery.
• Label products with cautionary and auxiliary labels.
• Prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding (liquids, powders, ointments).
• Enter patient and prescription data into the computer system to generate labels.
• Participate in pharmacy inventory management, including checking stock and removing expired medications.
• Handle returned medications per protocol (credit or destruction).
• Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
• Assist with onboarding and training new pharmacy staff.
• Working in the Narcotics Room and operating automated prepack machines.
• Mix IV medications and sanitize IV room/equipment.
• Service facility-based dispensing machines (RxNow).
• Perform other pharmacy support tasks as assigned.
