Job summary

Geisinger Health's South Wilkes-Barre pharmacy team is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Lead to oversee daily operations and mentor staff in a clinical hospital setting.

You will provide patient and provider care, use the pharmacy system, manage inventory, and participate in onboarding. A high school diploma, 1 year experience, and PTCB/NHA certification are required, with commitment to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year related work experience required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or NHA) required or eligible.
• Registration with PA State Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacy Technician Trainee/Tech/Intern is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient/provider/customer care.
• Use the pharmacy computer system to facilitate patient care.
• Participate in patient/provider/customer care activities that do not require the expertise of a pharmacist.
• Prepare and label medications appropriately for distribution.
• Retrieve, review, and perform inventory management for medications and supplies in the pharmacy.
• Maintain pharmacy records.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the pharmacy in compliance with hospital and accreditation policies.
• Participate in the onboarding and training of new pharmacy personnel.
• Oversee and assist with operational activities within the pharmacy such as trainee education, scheduling and evaluation, inventory oversight.
• Contribute to quality improvement projects as directed by the pharmacy administrative team.
