Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a full-time IV Room Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services. The technician rotates through the IV room, ambulatory infusion clinic and outpatient cancer centers, performing duties under pharmacist supervision.

The technician must be able to rotate shifts, days and evenings, and alternate weekends. Must hold a California Pharmacy Technician license, and be able to communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

As a full time IV Room Pharmacy Technician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, The pharmacy sterile compounding technician is cross trained in various locations including the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center IV room, ambulatory infusion clinic (AIC), outpatient cancer centers. All duties are performed independently by the technician under the supervision of a pharmacist.

The technician must be able to rotate shifts days and evenings, alternate weekends.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

• Current California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing

• Adequate computer skills as necessary to complete assigned projects and tasks
• Equipment: Able to use the following: calculator, computer printer, PC, medication carts, automated dispensing machines etc. Proficiency in the operation of specialized equipment is necessary for assignment to specialized areas, i.e. OR/ER, Sterile Manufacturing, ACP, Storeroom, etc.
• Schedule/Hours: Able to rotate shifts, alternate weekends, and rotate throughout any areas requiring Pharmacy Technician.

Physical demands:

• Frequent standing; walking, bending; reaching, occasional sitting, pushing & pulling, lifting of materials up to 40 pounds for distances to 10 feet.
• Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including: telephones, beepers, fire alarms, and mechanical failure alarms.
• Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients and other customers.
• Able to read information on medication labels.
