Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for Infusion services in Huntersville, NC. This full-time role supports pharmacists with preparation, labeling, and distribution of medications, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.

The position requires high school level education, state licensure, and CPhT or ExCPT certification within 18 months. Responsibilities include inventory control, data entry, third-party billing awareness, and potential immunization duties under

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work with multiple departments and matrix structures.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to work with moderate guidance.

• Knowledge of revenue cycle metrics.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Select, prepare, and label medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assist with medication distribution tasks.
• Screen phone calls and route using proper etiquette.
• Assist in procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking.
• Document removal, stocking and disposal of controlled substances as applicable.
• Prepare nonsterile compounds following USP standards.
• Prepare sterile IV admixtures where applicable.
• Inspect storage areas for proper policy adherence.
• Document medication admission histories and insurance verification when applicable.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in training of technicians.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
