Department: Inpatient Pharmacy

Schedule: Full Time Days

Shift: Monday through Friday, no nights or weekends

Starting Pay: $20.08 minimum (Offers based on experience and role equity)

Shift Differentials: Increases for Evenings, Nights, & Weekends based on State and Job Profile

Sign-on Bonus Eligible: $2,000 (for external qualified candidates; internal candidates should consult their recruiter)

Preferred Experience: Inpatient/hospital pharmacy experience

Job Summary:

Provides support to pharmacists including reviewing prescription orders, locating medications, preparation, counting, labeling, packing, and delivering medications. Responsible for the technical operation of the drug distribution system and maintaining automated dispensing systems. Trained in IV medication preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare medications for pharmacist verification, pack, label, and deliver to automated dispensing machines, monitor notifications, and resolve issues.
• Deliver patient medication doses, retrieve discharged medications, and ensure safety protocols.
• Conduct monthly inspections of storage areas, replace outdated medications, and ensure medication safety.
• Assist in inventory control: ordering, stocking, updating systems, rotating stock, and processing recalls.
• Document and dispense controlled substances securely and accurately.
• Maintain alertness and safety at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting/carrying/pushing 0-25 lbs frequently; occasional lifting 25-50 lbs; standing, walking, reaching, repetitive movements; visual and auditory acuity; keyboard use; occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping; rare climbing.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

For Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin: specific pharmacy technician licenses or registrations are required or expected within specified timeframes, including certifications from recognized boards.
