Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the delivery of pharmaceutical care in specialty and inpatient pharmacies, including Pediatric, Critical Care, and Oncology services.

Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, you will assist with medication distribution, take-home medications, and quality control procedures, while upholding MetroHealth's mission, values, and commitment to patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions.
• Current/active Certified Pharmacy Technician from the PTCB or certification within 90 days of hire; maintains certification.
• ExCPT Certification from the National Healthcare Career Association.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy; or becomes registered Certified Pharmacy Technician within 90 days.
• Registered Pharmacy Trainee willing and able to travel to external satellite locations, including having access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, performs a wide variety of duties in the delivery of pharmaceutical care in specialty and inpatient pharmacies.
• Delivers medication related services to in-house patients and related take-home medication services.
• Assists Pharmacists in performing quality control procedures for drug distribution technologies.
• Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Education

HS Diploma or GED

Certification requirements: PTCB or ExCPT

Ohio State Board of Pharmacy registration requirements

Pharmacy Trainee willing to travel to external satellite locations
