Job summary

Nationwide-Children is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of patient medications, including sterile products and hazardous drugs. You will deliver unit-dose carts, restock pharmacy areas, and assist with new medication orders while maintaining regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Pharmacy Technician license (or readiness to obtain within 90 days), and certification (CPhT or ExCPT).

Qualifications

  • Must hold Board of Pharmacy Technician License (Registered or Certified) or be prepared to become registered/certified within 90 days of hire.
  • Certification by examination as a pharmacy technician (CPhT, ExCPT) required.
  • Education required as per licensure and/or certification standards.
  • Six months of prior pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile products, TPNs, hazardous medications and ADC meds.
  • Fill unit-dose medication cart for daily delivery and restock storage areas.
  • Deliver unit-dose carts on time and ensure accurate handoffs to nursing units.
  • Assist in processing new medication orders and answer phones, providing safe handoffs to team members.
  • Train new technicians and participate in peer review as appropriate.

Overview:Schedule:Candidate must have availability from 12:30 PM to 12:30 AMMonday to Friday - 8.5 hours shiftEvery 4th weekend rotation requiredHoliday rotation - 1 major/1 minorJob Description Summary:Aids pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of patient medications, sterile products, TPNs, non-sterile medications, hazardous medications, and ADC medications and supplies, and ensures the delivery of these medications to nursing units. Trains new technicians, transporters, or pharmacy interns.Job Description:Essential Functions:Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of and compliance with USP 795, 797, and 800 standards and other regulatory requirements, which allow safe and accurate preparation and/or compounding of unit-dose medications (both oral and IV), including reconstitution when applicable.
