Job summary

UCHealth Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, CO, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy department on a full-time, onsite basis. Duties include supporting pharmacists, dispensing medications, and maintaining inventory, while pursuing pharmacy technician certification.

Department: Pharmacy

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Day and Evening Rotation

Pay: $20.26 - $26.34 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary: Provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance, and support for pharmacists and patients while working towards pharmacy technician certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems and/or processes incoming prescriptions. Repackages bulk medications. May be responsible for sterile and non-sterile compounding.Fills medication carts on a daily basis and/or processes and fills prescription orders. Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department and/or assists with shelving and stocking of medications. Audits medication inventory.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Pharmacy Technician Provisional (PHATP) certification from State Board of Pharmacy. Must obtain Pharmacy Technician certification from Colorado Board of Pharmacy (PHAT) within 18 months of obtaining provisional certification or per DORA expiration.
