Kaiser Permanente in Walnut Creek, CA is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician under the direction of a licensed pharmacist. You will transcribe orders, prepare medications, including IV admixtures, and assist in dispensing.
Maintain equipment and review cassettes, ensuring accurate labeling and high standards of patient safety. Requires ability to read physician orders, stand long hours, and work well with pharmacists, nurses, and patients.
Under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, transcribes abbreviated and symbolized information from physicians orders onto patient medication profile, through manual and computer entry. Selects and prepares medications, pharmaceutical products, and intravenous admixtures, including chemotherapeutic agents. Assists in thee dispensing and distribution of medications. Maintains pharmacy merchandise and equipment. Reviews medication cassettes for returned medication; types unit does and intravenous admixture labels; transports pharmacy merchandise. Performs other duties as required.
