Job summary

Kingman Regional Medical Center is seeking an inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join their team in Kingman, AZ. The role supports licensed pharmacists in dispensing medications and delivering patient-focused service in the outpatient pharmacy setting.

The position requires education in pharmacy tech pathways, state licensure/credentialing, and at least 1 year of related experience, with full-time rotating shifts and a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Arizona Pharmacy Technician License/Trainee License
  • PTCB National Technician Certification
  • 1+ years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Rotate through all work areas of the pharmacy and prepare medications and supplies for dispensing
  • Fill Pyxis machines and run reports as needed
  • Expedite processing of prescriptions and assist with preparation of medications for discharge
  • Communicate with third party providers to determine eligibility and obtain prior authorization
  • Maintain the prescription area in an orderly and sanitary manner
  • Assist with patient medication history and counseling and answer phone and counter requests
  • Perform other duties to support department and organization

Position Purpose: As a Pharmacy Technician, will be responsible for assisting and supporting registered pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications and providing exceptional customer service to patients in our outpatient pharmacy setting. You will work closely with healthcare professionals, patients, and other team members to ensure the accurate and timely fulfillment of medication orders while adhering to legal and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:Pharmacy Technicians rotate through all work areas of the pharmacy. Prepare medications and supplies for dispensing, including sterile preparations. Fill Pyxis machines and run reports as needed. Expedite the processing of prescriptions by performing all duties necessary and allowable by policy or law. Assist pharmacists with tasks associated with preparation of medications for patients prior to their hospital discharge. Communicate with third party providers to determine eligibility and obtain prior authorization. Maintain the prescription area in an orderly and sanitary manner. Assist with patient medication history, maintaining patient medication profiles and records. Answer the telephone and requests at the counter or window. Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of department and organization.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school or GED Equivalent or Pharmacy technician associate degree
  • Licensure: Arizona Pharmacy Technician License/Trainee License
  • Certification: PTCB National Technician Certification
  • Experience: 1+ years of previous work experience

Work Requirements: Ability to sit 13% of the time, stand 50%, walk 37% of the time, ability to distinguish colors, to carry or lift up to 34 pounds, knowledge of computer technology, accurate typing of 35 wpm, strong mathematical computation skills; expected duties do not have potential forexposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
