Job summary

Astera Cancer Care is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Infusion Float to support oncology practices by providing clinical support to patients and nursing staff. Travel to Tom River, Brick, Robbinsville, and Monroe locations is required.

The role involves maintaining the dispensing area, managing the nucleus system, ordering and restocking chemotherapy medications, and preparing labels and doses according to regimens. Oncology experience is preferred and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• IV admixing required.
• Previous experience in Oncology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure and maintain dispensing area, including refrigerator temperature log and cleanliness of work area such as counters, hood, and stock mixing area.
• Maintain nucleus system and medication inventory through sign out, return, and restock functions including nucleus reports.
• Order chemotherapy medications, calculate vials needed and return medications when applicable to ensure proper inventory pars.
• Prepare chemotherapy labels, calculate volume required to prepare dose, calculate infusion rate, be familiar with regimen name, frequency, and cycle number.
• Compound chemotherapy following mixing guidelines.
