Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care. You will work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, dispensing medications safely and accurately while complying with laws and regulations.

This role requires Indiana Pharmacy Technician license, a high school diploma, and prior pharmacy experience. You must be able to lift 20–30 lbs, stand for long shifts, and carry out routine record-keeping and inventory tasks.

Qualifications

• Valid Indiana Pharmacy Technician license.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous pharmacy experience.
• Able to lift objects from shelves and carry to order filling line.
• Must be able to walk and stand throughout the shift.
• Basic math, reading and writing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and label prescription medications for dispensing.
• Measure, count, and package medications according to prescription orders.
• Replenish medication in automated cells to full capacity; opening large quantities of bottles and cases of product.
• Ensure proper labeling and instructions for patient use on medication containers.
• Maintain an organized and clean dispensing area.
• Conduct regular stock rotation to prevent expiration of medications.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
• Assist in record-keeping and documentation of prescription and medication-related information.

Medication Dispensing

• Prepare and label prescription medications for dispensing.
• Measure, count, and package medications according to prescription orders.
• Replenish medication in automated cells to full capacity; opening large quantities of bottles and cases of product.

Inventory Management

• Conduct regular stock rotation to prevent expiration of medications.

Compliance and Regulations

• Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.

• Assist in record-keeping and documentation of prescription and medication-related information.

Minimum Qualifications

• Indiana Pharmacy Technician License
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous pharmacy experience
• Able to select and lift objects from shelves and carry to order filling line.
• Able to consistently carry 20 - 30 lbs. of merchandise short distances and 15 lbs. of merchandise on an extended basis from order filling station to conveyor.
• Must be able to walk and stand throughout the entire shift.
• Basic math, reading and writing skills required.
