Baptist Health’s Pharmacy at Baptist Medical Center South seeks a Pharmacy Technician III to support the medication-use process. You will assist pharmacists in preparation and compounding, manage inventory, and help resolve insurance claims in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Cross-training in two key areas, with opportunities to train new staff, is available. Requires ALBOP registration and CPhT certification, plus 3 years of experience. Onsite role, full-time, with 7 on/7 off second shift.

This individual shall assist the Pharmacist in the preparation and compounding of pharmaceutical products, assess inventory of pharmacy products, and resolve problems with insurance claims as they arise during the dispensing function, as applicable to location. Cross training in one key functional area [examples provided in Technician Career Ladder]. The Pharmacy Technician III shall train new staff, and cross train in two key functional areas. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.**Education / Experience**: High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 3 years of pharmacy technician experience.**License / Certification**: Valid ALBOP registration required, CPhT certification required**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**: • Ability to maintain a professional and customer- centric composure in difficult or challenging situations • Ability to prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency • Ability to effectively communicate with people throughout the organization • Ability to provide a positive customer service experience • Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations • Ability to accurately type and perform assigned computer duties • Proficient in needed pharmaceutical calculations, the metric system and if applicable, cash register use • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and competency with Microsoft Outlook for email communication • Competent with pharmacy systems and related technology and equipment for practice setting **Working Conditions/Physical Requirements**:Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals.
