Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III to join our Pharmacy Investigational Drug Service in Charleston. This role supports licensed pharmacists in dispensing, data entry, and patient information verification in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position requires a High School degree or equivalent, 2 years related work experience, SCBOP registration and PTCB certification, and a 40-hour work week with day shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• SCBOP registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
• National certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist a registered pharmacist with dispensing support activities.
• Collect, input, and verify prescription, refill, and patient information.

Job Description

Assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department.

Additional Job Description

Education: High School Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 2 years.

Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP), and national certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required and must be maintained.
