Job summary

Dayton Children\'s - Main Campus is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to assist the pharmacist with medication preparation for dispensing in the Inpatient Pharmacy. The technician works under supervision, following policy and procedures, and participates in training and quality improvement projects.

The role requires a State Board of Pharmacy licensed CPhT and an HSD/GED. Schedule features 10-hour shifts; 8 days on/6 days off with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold CPhT certification with Ohio Board of Pharmacy license.
• Pharmacy technician with proper licensure and responsibilities to support inpatient pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with medication preparation and dispensing under supervision.
• Prepare medications and display products for pharmacist verification and dispensing.
• Maintain inventory, answer calls, ensure clean/organized workspace, and support quality improvement.

The Pharmacy Technician II assists the pharmacist with the preparation of medications for dispensing. The technician performs various technical and supportive tasks necessary to provide pharmacy services. The pharmacy technician II works under supervision of the pharmacist, and focuses on accurate medication preparation following established policy and procedures set forth by the Pharmacy Department. This role meets the requirements of being a qualified pharmacy technician as established by the State Board of Pharmacy and holds a Certified Pharmacy Technician license from a State Board of Pharmacy accredited agency. The technician complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration, along with other regulatory agencies. The pharmacy technician II has mastered job duties and responsibilities and takes active part in training technicians and quality improvement projects.
