Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician at the Winston Campus for a full-time day shift. You will help pharmacists prepare and process medication orders, ensure patients and departments receive the right drugs on time, and keep stock in good condition for quality care.

Schedule is Monday–Friday 7:30am–4:00pm or 8:30am–5:00pm with no weekends; a $6,000 sign-on bonus is eligible for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• PTCB/NHA technician certification (CPhT) required.
• North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration required within 30 days of hire.
• One-year pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with preparing and processing medication orders.
• Organize daily tasks to maximize efficiency.
• Maintain stock of medicines and ensure proper storage.
• Provide pharmacy services in patient care areas.
• Contribute to quality improvement and Total Quality initiatives.

How You'll Impact Patient Care:

• Helps pharmacists prepare and process medication orders to make sure patients and departments get the right medications on time and are charged correctly.
• Works well with others and organizes daily tasks for maximum efficiency.
• Helps keep medicine stock in good condition so that quality drugs and supplies are always available.
• Offers pharmacy services in patient care areas.

What You Will Need

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Nice To Have (Not Required)

• Successful completion of a formal technician training program preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
• Frequent fine motor motion of hands and wrists to operate keyboard and manipulate syringes.
• Lifts, carries, and/or pushes/pulls various items (bags, boxes, carts, etc.) while utilizing proper technique.
• Will be frequently required to lift to 35 lbs., lift and carry up to 35 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance, push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, kneel, climb, twist, crawl and reach above shoulders.
• Must have functional speech, vision, touch and hearing.
• May be exposed to chemical hazards.
• May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
