Job summary

Valleywise Health System in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (Patient Assistance Program) to assist the pharmacist in preparing, filling, and delivering medications. You will type prescriptions, complete reports, input data, and support customer service within the Pharmacy Department.

This is a Pool position with an hourly pay rate of $26.00. Eligible candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, and a CPhT certification with AZ licensure is required; an accredited technician

Job description

Under the direction of the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, the level two technician routinely assists the pharmacist in preparing, filling, and delivering medications. They serve as liaisons to assist in the appropriate and timely delivery of information and pharmaceutical products to the customer. May perform duties such as typing prescriptions, completing reports, operating and maintaining automated dispensing devices, inputting computer data, and providing all aspects of customer service required to provide Pharmacy Department services.

This is a Patient Assistance Program Pharm Tech position.

Hourly Pay Rate: $26.00

This is a POOL position.

Qualifications

Education:

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred but not required.

Experience:

• Requires at least two (2) years of experience in a pharmacy environment, with at least one (1) years in a retail setting.

Certification/Licensure:

• Must possess CPhT Certification issued by PTCB and be licensed by the AZ State Board of Pharmacy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Requires knowledge of mathematical calculations and medication terminology.
• Must know computer software, particularly pharmacy system software, such as Pyxis.
• Requires training in compounding intravenous medication and sterile product preparation.
• Must have effective written and verbal communication and organizational and problem-solving skills. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
