Job summary

Job description

Are you a Certified Pharmacy Technician who is looking to join an outstanding team of Pharmacy professionals? If so, we would love to talk to you about our growing Pharmacy at Newton-Wellesley Hospital! We have immediate full-time opportunities at Newton Wellesley Pharmacy department.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Support the mission of the Pharmacy department by ensuring the right patient receives the right medications in a safe and timely manner under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
  2. Develop a full understanding of the drug distribution system.
  3. Demonstrate competency in duties related to delivering medications to patient care areas.
  4. Operate Omnicell automated dispensing system and Epic computer software.
  5. Prepare hazardous and non-hazardous IV admixtures.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma required.
  • Must be exCPT or PCTB certified, or a registered pharmacy intern with the state of Massachusetts.
  • Familiarity with medical/drug terminology and abbreviations.
  • Ability to walk and stand for 70% of the time and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to handle controlled substances appropriately.
  • Meet eligibility requirements for Massachusetts registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Register with the state of Massachusetts before 1000 hours of employment.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
