Job summary

University of Miami's Sylvester Pharmacy Patient Assistance Programs is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician 2 to support patient enrollment in assistance programs and manage program inventory. You will collaborate with clinicians and social workers to ensure timely initiation of prescribed treatments.

The role requires registration as a Florida Pharmacy Technician, with at least one year of relevant experience; a technician certificate is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Department of Health.
• Pharmacy Technician certificate preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and enroll patients into medication Patient Assistance Programs and charity foundations.
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, case managers, and social workers to initiate prescribed treatments.
• Clearly communicate program requirements, timelines, updates, and expectations to enrollees.
• Document provider, patient, and program interactions timely and accurately.
• Maintain accurate inventory of program medications and handle daily inventory tasks (intake, distribution, returns, disposal).
• Audit patient claims for appropriate billing of medications under Patient Assistance Programs.
• Provide routine reports to pharmacy management on project progress.
• Assist in projects and cost-saving initiatives for the pharmacy department.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Registered Pharmacy Technician with Florida Department of Health

Pharmacy Technician certificate preferred

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
